CZ85 Combat Holster for IDPA
« on: March 22, 2003, 07:07:58 PM »
I've heard that the Bereta holsters fit the CZ85 Combats.  Can someone validate?  I use the Kydex (Uncle Mike's) for my 1911 and like it just fine - what can be used for the CZ85 Combat?  If you've got links to some holsters, it would be appreciated.

Beretta holsters GENERALLY fit the 75/75B/85B and 85 Combat guns.  Fobus holsters for the Beretta work.  But Fobus has a new dedicated 75 holster that should work well, too.

I have an 85 Combat that I shoot regularly in IDPA.

I most frequently use the Safariland 650-88, which is an almost infinitely adjustable paddle holster that can work with almost every gun I shoot.  (I bought this one, originally, for a Glock 17, long since gone.)

I also have a Cen-dex kydex holster (given to me by the Forus) that is a perfect fit for the 85 combat and very good for concealed carry.

I have a Fobus paddle for the Beretta, too, and its a good fit, but I just don't use it much, anymore.  Its a loaner for folks at our club who are trying out IDPA...

There are other options available to you on the CZ LINKS forum, here.

When I got to our classifier Friday night, I found that I had left my favorite Safariland holster home, by mistake.

I had brought my Cen-Dex IWB belt holster.  (This holster was given to me by forum members some months back, but its the first time I've really used is seriously.)

Very nice holster.   I may end up using it more often, and its a very good concealment holster.

Unhappily, thanks to a bad third stage -- two misses -- I missed Expert again, by 9 seconds.  That's a second or two worse than I did last time.  I need to remember that "slow is good" on the classifier third stage.

(We had one guy miss MASTER by 1.5 seconds, and another shoot the classifier for the first time, miss Sharpshooter by .18 seconds.  That's impressive, as the first time through is real tough.)

Beretta 92 holsters will work but I have found when using kydex they tend to speed up holster wear.  I ordered a IWB for my CZ-85 from www.blade-tech.com and it is superb my only caution is that there j-hooks don't seem to work.  I found that often when I drew I got a holstered gun not just a gun.  I switched to loops and haven't had a problem since.  www.fistinc.com will also make 85 holsters.  I am getting ready to order a kydex model that has adapters to allow you to carry IWB, on the belt, or between the belt and pants.  An added bonus to the blade-tech is it also holds my 75 compact perfectly also.

My experience with kydex is that if you do not diligently clean the inside of the holster small particles of dust, grit, gunk or whatever will adhere to the inside of the holster and dramatically increase holster wear on your sidearm.
