This section of the CZ Forum is dedicated to discussion of the CZ-83 model.
The CZ 83 line of pistols are compact all-steel semi-automatic handguns, designed on the blowback breech principle. They are produced with a classic rifled barrel in calibers 7.65 mm Browning (.32 Auto), and 9 mm Browning Short (.380 ACP), and with a polygonal barrel bore for the cal. 9 mm Makarov. The trigger mechanism is of a double action type. The CZ 83 features an ambidextrous manual safety, a magazine catch and a slide stop on one side. When the last cartridge from the magazine has been fired the slide is locked in its rear position.
The double-column magazine has a single cartridge outlet. The CZ 83s design enables less experienced shooters to quickly adopt a fast and safe firing stance. Its favourable caliber/weight ratio, reliability and compactness facilitate the concealed carrying of this pistol which means that it is a popular and sought-after handgun for personal defence. The pistol is outfitted with sights for shooting under poor visibility conditions as standard. Tritium based illuminated sights with constantly lit dots are available by special order.

High accuracy of fire and a long service life. Outstanding reliability - even when using various types of cartridges. The slide stays open after the last cartridge has been fired.
