changing rear sight
« on: August 24, 2008, 07:17:19 PM »
I had the LPA adjustable sights put on my pistol afew years ago. Does anyone know if I can use the 6.5 mm fiber optic front sight with this set up? Thanks, John

I want to remove the LPA sights and use the factory rear sight. I do not have a sight pusher. If I try to use wood dowel and a hammer, the sight goes in from left to right? Thanks, John

Normally sights are pushed OUT from the left to right, and installed from right to left. I have not changed any CZ sights, but assume they would be the same. Maybe someone with more knowledge will answer you. Regards!

On my 75B Stainless there is clear evidence that the rear sight was inserted from left to right. You can see scruff marks on the part that is visible to the right of center. As a practical matter it should not make much difference since neither the sight or the dove tail should be tapered.

None of the local gun shops have a CZ sight pusher. I really don't want to try to bang it out, but if I have to I would like the easiest method that does the least aount of damage. Any idea's would be appreciated. John

I've used a brass punch & hammer with these numerous times with no issues.  Which LPA sight are you using?  SPR or the 85 Combat / Kadet style?
SP-01, P-01, CZ-75 Compact, CZ-75 Kadet, CZ-40B, CZ-83 Nickel, CZ-52, CZ-70, CZ-50, CZ 700 Sniper,  CZ 527 Kevlar, CZ 452 Ultra Lux, CZ 452 American 16", CZ 452 Scout, CZ V22 AR Upper, Sar K2

May try the punch method. It is the old style that required new front sight. Part number lpa spr86cz. John
