I could not tell you the OAL of the ammo I fired. I shot all of it. But I would have to assume that of the 4 brands that I tried that at least one would have been correct.

The ejection of the spent casings has been fine.

I believe it to be the nose of the bullet tipping down and catching. With new and old mags I am beginning to suspect mechanical issues with the gun. I am having a hard time tracking down a good smith in Indianapolis. If any on can recommend one let me know. On that same note I do not have a problem shipping it out to a gunsmith. I may call CZ and ask what they can do for it.

Thanks for the replies

most of the time...if the bullet is tipping in the mag...its usually the mag..but like you said..you are using new mags from MecGar..and the MecGar springs are pretty decent..so this is a strange one to diagnose..sorry..can't be more help

Call around to a couple of nearby gun ranges.  Chances are they will be able to recommend a gunsmith.  (Pawnshops usually have a gunsmith on call, too.)

Is the bullet catching on the mag or is the slide stopping early it hits the slide stop and it looks like the bullet is catching on the mag? Not sure I worded that right but see this post

Thanks brokenarrowjbe!

I knoticed a lot of copper in the slide release at the area where the mags is. I think this might be the problem. I am able to make the bullet catch on it and lock the slide. I am going to try to remove a little materal around the release and see how it runs.

It still is not working. I did confirm the problem is the slide locking back. I can hold the slide stop down and this fixes the problem.

I have also been told that the slide stop should not come out as easily as it does during the guns take down, it almost falls out.

So after a call to CZ I have a new slide stop spring on the way. We'll see if this works, If not I send it to them to fix.

I gotta say that CZ USA is a top notch company to deal with. They are by far the best firearms company that I have ever delt with on the phone.

After a long while I finally got to try out the gun. The slide release spring fixed the issue. Thanks again to all who helped me out.

I have to say the gun shoots very well. I am impressed with it.
