FINALLY!!!!

The Philadelphia Phillies are the 2008 World Series Champions! The first World Series title since 1980; the first major sports championship for the city since 1983 (Sixers).

The curse of William Penn is over! Now if only the Flyers could win the cup, I'd be able to die in peace. :)

Yep... many high schools in the city had 70%+ of the students call out "sick" to attend the parade today.

I have been a Phillies fan since I was a kid (Mike Schmitt & Von Hayes era/Late 80s). I was born and live in Southern Indiana, so no body shared my enthusiasm. When I got out of collage and went to work for an airline, I got to go to Philadelphia allot. I was stoked to be able to go there and get gear and go to games....thing is nobody there shared my enthusiasm either. Last year I had a guy from Lancaster PA move in next door and he is a fan too...finally some one who understands the loneliness of being a Phillies fan. This year my family and his got together and watched the Phyllis become world champions..... Finally all is Zen in my little world. I can?t to find a Reds fan and gloat!

The estimates are that 2.5+ million showed up for the parade; the city's population is only 1.6 million
