ambi safety
« on: November 03, 2008, 05:14:49 PM »
Have a CZ 75 Stainless with ambi safety.
Would like to put on a laser grip.
Has any one  removed the ambi for a single safety.
Local gun smith (?) was no help .
Thanks for any suggestions or help.

It can be done, and at least one member, here, has done it.  He had the gun modified by Angus' custom shop, which made a flat piece to fit in the right side of the frame.  A significant expense, really, would be shipping the gun to Angus...

Can't the original right side safety not siply be milled/filed down flat with the outside of the frame? (or use a lath for the last bit of removal)
What's left is a "dummy" safety, a axle of 8 mm diameter.
Like the safety on some DAO.
Just a thought.

That may be what was done.   But they would still want to have the gun to test the work, etc.

You could always get a spart right-side lever and have a local gunsmith do the work.

Ask this question of Angus, in the "ASK ANGUS" area -- or contact the CZ Custom Shop or Ghost Products.  Links to it are in the Ask Angus area.
