Looking for new 75B SS Polished w/ wood
« on: January 06, 2009, 12:49:26 PM »
Hello,

New to the site and I'm looking for the Cabela's style 75B with the gloss polished stainless and the wood grips.  I live in Atlanta and do not have a Cabelas anywhere even close.  My local gun store has a matte stainless 75B and was not familiar with the gloss version with wood.  They seem to think it might have been a special gun made for the big box store.  Is this correct?

Does anyone know where I could order or buy one similiar to what Cabela's is selling, NIB?  I tried Gunbroker, Bud's, but no joy.  I appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
Neal

The cabelas ad (not sure this will show): http://cabelasflyers.dirxion.com/75v/Main.asp has that gun listed and has "Exclusive" under it, so yes, it appears that only Cabela's carries it.

You could always make a trip to Gonzales, LA:

Personally, I am surprised NJ is getting a store and yet nothing is down south.  That is quite surprising.....almost like an oversight on Cabela's part.

I was at my local gun shop here in Greeley Colorado on Friday and they have a polished stainless CZ for sale so is it strictly a Cabela's exclusive? They said it came from the factory and they are a CZ dealer. I thought about it for a minute but I already have a 9mm Retro.

I believe that the Cocobola grips is what makes the Cabela's "exclusive". The guns apparently left the factory with black rubber grips and the wood was added later. All I have heard of from Cabela's had the rubber grips under the foam along with the range report. The rubber grips show the marks left by the lock washers indicating previous installation.

CZ Custom stocks the same grips. Mine came with half checkered but I have seen full checkered also.

Didn't know the polished stainless has a different beavertail than other CZ's. I had just heard of the polished model when I saw the one at my local shop so I didn't know the details. It had the black rubber grips which I thought looked really good, had no idea there might be wood grips hiding in the case. Great looking handgun, got me thinking about sending my 75 Retro to Ford's Custom Gun Refinishing for a bright polished chrome finish.

I was in the Cabela's here in Maine this afternoon. They got some more CZ 75 pistols since last week. They had another "Cabela's special" polished stainless with wood grips for the sale price of $599. And there was another new polished stainless with rubber grips and the up-swept beavertail for $699.

When the CZ75B in Stainless Steel was announced (if memory serves, it's been a while), there was to be a polished stainless (which apparently went to Cabela's), a matte/frosted finish, and a semi-gloss finish.  I acquired my matte/frosted pistol from manofsteel in the classifieds here, and have been very happy with it.  I'm still waiting to see what the semi-gloss finish looks like.

didn't know there was a matte frosted AND a semi/gloss...i'm guessing this one is matte-frosted. What's the semi-gloss look like?
