the 75B and the 85C still have the smaller mag release..the 75SA, stainless, and SP01 have the bigger mag release..think the PCR does too..

All of my 75's & 85 were made prior to the P-01 & SP-01 introduction. Since I only saw the new release on my P-01's & SP-01 I thought that was the standard now.  ;D Thanks for the info. This is a real tempting pistol.

The local mom-and-pop gun shop just got in three 75B Omegas at $509 each.  The SA trigger is a bit long, but notably light and smooth, with zero hammer camming.  By far the best trigger I've ever felt on a stock CZ.  I've got to get one of these pistols, or two if I can afford them.   ;D

Stopped by my local purveyor of fine firearms yesterday afternoon, only to find a crowd at the firearms counter four deep.  In the cabinet was one of the CZ75B Omega's, with a price of $459 (figure right at $500 with WA state sales tax).  Should have packed my cattle prod, finally got up to the counter just as another shopper asks to see the pistol.  Apparently it did not fit his hand (don't know how...), so I got to examine the pistol.  It is now part of my arsenal of fine CZ firearms.  The Gods have looked in my direction and smiled once more.

Saw on at Target World in Cincinnati last weekend. I liked the beavertail on it although I didn't get to examine it. They wanted $550 and the place was packed.

I'm curious to see what the pin is for that is just to the rear of the safety lever?

its the sear pin. since the gun is supposed to be able to converted to decocker, it uses a sear pin that goes through all the way. makes a slave pin absolutey necessary to disassemble/assemble the gun.

I am curious was what the insides look like that is supposed to make it simpler than the std CZ75B

looks like the trigger pin is similar to the replacement one Angus is selling and the hammer pin doesn't have a retaining pin.
what else is different??

Interesting....

I like that they are including the extended mag release and the new beavertail on more of their guns.  Should make those two standard IMO, it makes quite a difference in the feel (especially the beavertail).

So the question is....  Triggers any better than the non-Omegas?  Specifically, I wonder if they will take the Angus hammer, and if they do will they clean up even better than the non-omegas?

Handled one the other day.  SA is must lighter and has significantly less creep.  Not sure if I want to take the plunge yet as I've seen no data that says CZ is switching all their pistols to this system.

My question is how reliable is the new system?  The old design is well proven with a long service life.

RSR is selling these to dealers for $399.95 plus shipping.  My local FFL told me that the contract was for guns to go to Mexico and something happened, perhaps an overrun.  It is a lead-pipe cinch that Mexico isn't paying $400 for them.  I am interested in the trigger system as well.  My 75B was tuned by a master gunsmeith and it still cams, though very slightly.

OK..curiosity finally got the best of me..went down to the LGS and they had one in stock. got a them to pull the top so I could see what was up inside. they were busy..so this was a really quick look

no ejector housing..they fit the ejector to a slot cut in the frame. they use a pin that is held by the frame ( same set up as the decocker guns) that holds the sear and FPB lever. the sear is different. hard to say because I couldn't see the bottom or sides of it. it uses the wider SP01 Shadow hammer ( which is probably why there is no camming of the hammer in single action.)

the DA is still as heavy and gritty as a the other 75B guns, the SA has no camming, but still a little creepy and heavy. best guess its like 4#.
not sure of what all small parts are missing. noticed the hammer pin retaining pin is not used, but not sure of what else inside.

beavertail is nice, feels like the 75SA or SP01, top end is the same as a 75B

anyway..that's all I know.

Shot mine today, WOW, I've never been this good a shot, ever.  Do they dip these things in hot vasaline then stuff 'em in that plastic bag?  Anyway, I cleaned and lubed it with PB Blaster dry teflon, a liquid spray with a carrier that evaporates and leaves a film of dry teflon lube.  A shot of that made a big dif in that gritty, heavy da pull.   The sa pull is very good.  I hardly knew when it was nearing break point.  This is my first cz and first centerfire da, sa pistol.  I think I made a great choice here.  Thanks to all for the great site.  If anybody wants to see a pic, I'll post if I can.
