Ammo and reloading bullets for 9mm stainless
« on: March 07, 2009, 10:02:46 AM »
Hi,

The CZ stainless is my first semi-auto.  I have been a revolver guy up to now.  I am looking for advice on what brands of ammo folks have been having good accuracy results with.  I know it varies from gun to gun but am just looking for basic info.  From my brief research it seems like the 115g HP bullets are the best for self defense so I want to look along those lines.  Of course any other suggestions would be great.

I have picked up some info from reading on this forum.  It seems like the Win. white box ammo has good reports.  I have heard a lot of bad about the Rem. UMC.  Basically I am looking for affordable but reliable and productive self defense rounds.  If I have to go the high end road, like TAP, Gold Dot, etc. I guess I will but if there is a good jacketed HP that performs well for cheaper, it would allow me to stock up, ending up with a lot more rounds.

Thanks in advance,

Scot E.

Look on the Internet for articles on stopping power.  Marshal and Sanow have done the best research on this.  The CZ will feed about anything you put through it.  I happen to like 124 gr JHP myself.  I use the Rainier 124 plated HP on top of 6.0 gr SR-4756 for a practice / occasional carry load.  My first magazine full usually has Corbon 115 JHP +P ammo in it.
