P07 Disassembly Video Please!!!!
« on: May 19, 2009, 10:17:00 PM »
I desperately want to see a video of the P-07 being field stripped.  I looked all over youtube, to no avail.  Can someone post a video link?  I'm sure it is because my gun is new and stiff, I mean it took about 5-7 times before the magazine would release, but I cannot seem to be able to field strip the gun at all.  I "tapped" the area the instructions said to "tap", then I took a screwdriver and banged the heck out of it, got a few scratches in the process, but I cannot get the slide/barrel off for what is supposed to be a simple field strip.  Someone please help!!  I'm just curious if I'm missing a step or if its really that stubborn.

Are you pulling the slide back slightly back as you're trying to push the slide release pin out? You have to pull the slide back 1/4 to 1/3 of an inch and then push the slide release pin out. You definitely do not need bang on it, although it is difficult to get out. I use a pen to push the pin out, which makes it easier.

i pulled the hammer back as instructed, leaving the slide resting over the hammer, then i try to push in the slide pin.  are you saying that i must pull on the slide even further, past the resting position?

You actually have to be pushing/pulling the slide back while pushing the slide release pin. So, you'd use one hand to push the slide into the half-cocked hammer, or even a little further, and use the other to push the slide release pin out, while you've got the slide pushed back.

Are there two little marks near the rear, one on the slide, one on the frame? You should pull the slide slightly to the rear, to where those two marks line up with each other, then tap out the slide stop.

Ok, I'll try that when I get home tonight, because I haven't tried that.  Any chance of you being able to record it and post it?  Thanks for the help.

There aren't any marks on my frame or slide, which I prefer.

The manual probably could be a little more clear on what the procedure is, especially for those who don't have previous experience with CZ handguns. I'm going to try to post pics to show the process.

Here's a pic to illustrate how to get the slide off the P-07. I am left-handed, so you might grip it a little differently, but at least this gives you an idea:

The slide release pin can be tough to push out, so it's helpful to use a pen, or pen cap, or some other plastic item with a point, to get it through.

I noticed that the baseplate of the mag works well for pushing out the pin in guns that have it in that little recess like the P-07 and P-06

Make sure that you remove the magazine first. Don't know about P-07s, but my P-01 slide stop cannot be removed with a magazine inserted in the gun -I've tried it.

Thanks for the help guys!, very nice forum.  Yep, as soon as i figured out how to pull it past the hammer and maintain my grip, it came right out, definitely no need to bang on it, worked with a mag.  can't wait to get to the range and see if months of research pays off.

I'm sure we're happy to have been able to help!

The big trick is keeping the slide pulled back. I've almost gotten cramps holding that slide back!
