New CZ 9mm rami P
« on: May 20, 2009, 08:58:36 PM »
I just purchased a new 9mm rami P. It came with 2-14 round mags and one extra rear sight, I don't know why! I took it out to the range and set up the targets at around 10 yards. I fired around 100 rounds of JHP reloads. I was amazed at how accurate the pistol was. I know 10 yards is not really long distance but for a three inch barrel that is about all I would use it for. I put all of my shots in the bullseye and punched out one big hole and not one FTE or FTF.  My friend was amazed. I believe he wants one now. I purchased it for my CCW and I believe I made a great choice. ;D

Welcome aboard.  I use the exact same gun for cc.  Great choice.

BTW you might want to check out the 10 round mags for cc.  Print less than the 14 rounders.

They are just the novak style rear sight which can be drifted left or right. I did not have to mess with them. The pistol was dead on out of the box.

I have been looking for a ten rounder for CCW. I like the 14 rounder at the range but I think the 10 rounder would be better suited for CCW.

Just curious. Why do you feel a 10rnd mag is better suited for CCW than a 14rnd mag?

an
Because I live in Texas. I wear shorts and T-shirts most of the time. I wanted a ten rounder because it not as noticable under a T-shirt.  The 14 rounder adds around another inch sticking out.

Some (like me) feel that the 14 round mag makes the gun butt as long as a Compact model P-01/PCR
for daily carry.

Thanks for the quick reply. Now it makes sense why a 10 round magazine is best for CCW with a RAMI.

Looks like the RAMI P is also the value champ for 2009.

$60 cheaper than a RAMI in alloy.

I still prefer the alloy. I like the rubber grips better on it. I held a .40 poly RAMI and it was OK, but the alloy just felt sturdier and felt better in grip to me.

I also second the use of the 10 rounder for CCW.

I carry the an 8 rounder for my .40 RAMI and a 9 rounder as backup in my pocket. I find the 8 rounder prints much less and makes the gun much smaller. It's amazing how that extra 1/2 to 1 inch makes a world of difference in the concealability of the RAMI.
