New-to-CZ-guy here, hate that my first post has to be a negative, but here is a copy of an Email I sent to CZ this evening which will be followed by a phone call tomorrow:
Hello.
Based upon CZ's excellent consumer reviews, I purchased a new P-07 Duty 9mm from my local gun shop, Coal Creek Armory in Knoxville, TN yesterday. Upon arriving home, I noticed that the magazine would not drop from the pistol. The magazine finally released only after applying rearward pressure on the trigger while pressing the mag release. I attempted to replace and remove both magazines several times in hopes that the release mechanism would "loosen up", but the problem remained consistent. On occasion, the magazine will drop 1/16th of an inch when empty but requires prying with fingertips to free it from the pistol completely. When the magazine is fully loaded, the magazine release button will not work without rearward pressure on the trigger - clearly creating a risk of negligent / accidental discharge.
As I purchased this firearm for the purpose of daily carry as well as frequent range use, I do not find it accceptable that a brand new weapon would require ANY pressure on the trigger in order to remove the magazine in the process of rendering the weapon safe.
Subsequent research on my part has revealed my issue to be relatively common among others reporting their experiences with this firearm. Additionally, it appears as well that CZ USA has been extremely helpful in remedying this issue on behalf of it's customers.
Please respond to this Email with instructions as to how I may most quickly have this problem resolved.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
