New-to-CZ-guy here, hate that my first post has to be a negative, but here is a copy of an Email I sent to CZ this evening which will be followed by a phone call tomorrow:

Hello.

Based upon CZ's excellent consumer reviews, I purchased a new P-07 Duty 9mm from my local gun shop, Coal Creek Armory in Knoxville, TN yesterday. Upon arriving home, I noticed that the magazine would not drop from the pistol. The magazine finally released only after applying rearward pressure on the trigger while pressing the mag release. I attempted to replace and remove both magazines several times in hopes that the release mechanism would "loosen up", but the problem remained consistent. On occasion, the magazine will drop 1/16th of an inch when empty but requires prying with fingertips to free it from the pistol completely. When the magazine is fully loaded, the magazine release button will not work without rearward pressure on the trigger - clearly creating a risk of negligent / accidental discharge.

As I purchased this firearm for the purpose of daily carry as well as frequent range use, I do not find it accceptable that a brand new weapon would require ANY pressure on the trigger in order to remove the magazine in the process of rendering the weapon safe.

Subsequent research on my part has revealed my issue to be relatively common among others reporting their experiences with this firearm. Additionally, it appears as well that CZ USA has been extremely helpful in remedying this issue on behalf of it's customers.

Please respond to this Email with instructions as to how I may most quickly have this problem resolved.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

You know what i found....take your gun and instead of using your right thumb to press release, hold your gun by the slide and take your left hand and press the release. My guess is the thing will drop like a terrorist looking down the barrel of a CZ DUTY!!!   :)

UPDATE:

I recieved a response email from CZ-USA requesting the serial number in order to begin the warranty process.

In the meantime, I repeatedly inserted, dropped, and reinserted the two empty magazines into the pistol (while watching TV). After about 10 minutes of this, both mags are dropping fully about 90-plus % of the time. No need to apply pressure to the trigger as with the initial problem.

I responded to CZ-USA with this information. Perhaps sending the weapon back will not be necesary!

Oh - FWIW, it's an A65 serial number.

I took my "new" (had only run about 200 rounds through it on a previous trip to the range and had noted the issues then as well with only 2 mags in use) P07 to a basic handgun class.  Had issues the entire day during the shooting section of the class.  The mag would not drop, but a slight bit when loaded and had to grasp with my fingers to get it out when empty.

I also ran into another problem with the double-action of the trigger pull.  I worked with the pistol and the action on the double action was sketchy at best.  I was doing my darnedest to be smooth on the trigger pull, but that was impossible.  Instead of a steady pull with the hammer coming back, it was jerky and then would fire only after you hit the wall and had to press much harder to get the full cock on the hammer.  This resulted in pulling the pistol/jerking it off target.  Following shots were not a problem as the hammer was already cocked.  I was using 3 mags, 2 of which came with the pistol and the 3rd was ordered from CZ USA.

Did okay on the range, but am sorely disappointed in the performance of the pistol.  I really want the mags to drop and NOT to have to manually pull them from the weapon.  Will be calling CZ-USA in the morning to see what we can do about the issue.  (sigh).  Will let you know what they say.

Looks like I have to send my p07 back for sticking mags how does the shipping back to me work. I would assume it has to be sent back to an FFL do they ship it to a dealer wont charge me a transfer fee or what.

Thanks

They sent mine straight to my house. Below is what they said in regards to that.

"The pistol will go overnight, so it complies with fedex policy.  Per the gca of 1968 one party has to be an ffl holder if shipping a pistol out of state, so we're good on all accounts.  We'll ship the pistol directly back to you when we're done working on it."

It seems like i lucked out with my purchase of my P07, the only time i had a problem with the magazine not fully dropping is when left in my car in sub 30 degree weather. But also if you look at the video that is on CZ's website of the P07 the gentlemen shooting when they reload while in the hallway they actually pull the magazine out of the gun(wonder if anyone caught that) ??? But this being my first handgun im lovin it

I've recently purchased a P07, in the A64xxxx serial range, and it won't drop the magazines. I've sent two e-mails (with SN) about this issue with no response. When I called customer service I was told "it's a known problem, but keep shooting it, it will work itself out." This doesn't seem to match what I'm reading on the website - in this very thread. Are they all on the same page at CZ USA, or are there only two people up there who are willing to return guns for this problem?  ???
