85 combat as concealed carry weapon
« on: June 05, 2009, 11:25:50 AM »
I will try it here.  I am new to cz's and wanted to know if anyone else carried their 85 combat as concealed carry weapon? I used to carry an HK .45 USP compact before I handled the 85 combat.  I am stout at 5'10" and 221 lbs and with the Crossbreed Super Tuck it is no problem carry it all day.  Just was curious.  I put this post on another area of cite and one nice fella responded just thought I might get more response in the 85 combat club area.  We will see?

I have carried my CZ75BD which is comparable in size and weight to the CZ85 Combat.  After carrying it for a month, I decided it was a tad heavy for me, and now I carry a CZ75D PCR and use the CZ75BD for other purposes.

CZ75B all day everyday in a Comptac CTAC.

Questions like this one come up all the time, but consider that loads of people carry 1911's all the time with no problems.

True about the 1911s, but CaneI was asking for personal experiences and preferences, the way I understood it.  I tried to carry my Rock Island 1911 .45ACP milspec, but it was even heavier than the CZ75BD.  I could carry the CZ75BD - and did, for about a month, every day - but eventually chose not to.  The Rock Island was too heavy for my to comfortably carry...

There are soldiers who carry M60 crew-operated machine guns, but I certainly am too old and too weak to do that!  I did carry an M16A1 when I was in the U.S. Army Infantry, 1975-78.

jay1958,  thanks for understanding my query.  I was asking about personal experiences.  So far, I have had no problem carrying the 85 combat but, the response concerning a months worth of toting it about makes me think I may have to buy the P01 I have been eying ;D

cane I .......  I beleive you have been eyeing the right pistol.  P-01 or a Rami make a great carry weapon, depending on you needs.  I have chosen the 75D compact P-01, and it's perfect.  Good luck with your decision.

I have been carrying my 85C for about 4 years now without any problems. Even use a owb holster under an untucked tee shirt in the summer, but mostly an iwb style. The most important thing is to have a holster that fits you well but there are a lot of good ones to choose from.

We have open carry here.  I find it pretty comfortable.  It's my "dress up gun," when I don't feel like carrying the FN57.
