Sellers remorse
« on: June 20, 2009, 04:03:58 PM »
I've had buyers remorse more times than I can count.  The P-07 is the first weapon I have ever sold and wanted to kick my own ass.  A buddy of mine wanted it bad enough to give me $700 with an $80 laser on it so I guess I did well.  I figured I could find another one and use the money to replace it and get my Saiga 12 out of layaway.  I called every gun store in town to no avail.  I ended up with a Steyr M9-A1, my Saiga, and about a hundred bucks.  The Steyr seems to be a totally underrated piece.  It feels sturdier than any polymer pistol I've ever encountered.  Reliability has been as flawless as the CZ.  I still miss the P-07 but I'm not sure I'll get another one.  I just don't know what I should do.  The Duty was lighter but the decocker rubbed me raw when I wore it inside the pants.  The M9 is heavy but the side is smooth and very comfortable.  With my financial situation I can only have 1, do it all , pistol.  Honestly either one will work for me but there is something about the CZ that i can't quite put my finger on that I really liked.  Has anyone here owned both?

I have owned the first Steyr M-9 a decade back when they first arrived. Had to trade it in to get the wife her own CZ-75, she was hogging mine.  It was a decent gun but the grip angle is wrong, sort of like a Glock.  You end up pointing at the ceiling if you do not bend your wrist more, not a natural pointer like a CZ.  Other then that I liked the gun and would get another for my collection (no I will not trade my P07 for it).

The gun was designed by former Glock engineer. Probably explains the grip angle etc.

I handle the Steyr when it came out - the grip angle was waaay off for me, natural aim had the thing pointed up at 45 degrees for me.
