Important info if you are removing a sporter style stock!
« on: July 15, 2009, 11:54:03 AM »
First, it's a 10mm Allen wrench you need, to access that double ended screw from the INSIDE of the reciever, and second, it's reverse threaded, so righty tighty will get you all screwed up. Screw left, and the stock will slowly come away from the reciever, but you MUST remove the screw inside the pistol grip first.
BTW, if you are installing the traditional folding stock, get BIG honkin' screwdriver, BIG sucker, and tighten that bad boy DOWN hard! Once that's done, it will work perfectly, lots o' fun! ;D

The folding stock only takes a flat head screw driver to screw it in or out. You don't need to take the reciever apart.

BIG screwdriver. Tighten it with the rifle held between your knees or in a padded vise.

VZ newb here.
Does this go the same for the 5.56 chambered model?
I wish to get one when they are back in stock, but want to run the side folder.

Edit:
Specifically this is the one I am wanting to get:

I don't want the AR style stock, so I figured I could save some money and get this cheaper model and swap the folder and a standard pistol grip onto it.

That I don't know but I will assume it is. I haven't taken my stock off, and really don't want to mess with the factory set torque unless I have to - I can't re-seat it to the same torque, being merely human. :)

I bought this directly from Czechpoint. If its permanently attached, I'll be super pissed. And Dan will hear from me. >:(

I've already answered you in my e-mail, but I must answer you in this thread to ensure future readers are not confused.   You have a new production folding stock screw that works with a hex/allen wrench (6mm).   Original screws use a slot screwdriver and can be difficult to tighten or untighten as the slot screwdriver can easily slip out of place.  The hex screw is an improvement over the original screw.   Just to confirm, counter clockwise loosens and clockwise tightens.

Dan,
Are these improved screws available as replacement parts? I couldn't find them on your web site.
