CZ 40P might become collectors item
« on: September 29, 2009, 10:43:31 AM »
since there were not alot of these made, this gun is rally a great gun and you can find that the galco holsters for the sig p229 will fit this gun, it's very accurate and great to carry concealed because it is light and compact.

It is the most accurate 40 I own! Period.
Since Criminals will always have guns, there’s no reasonable expectation of self-defense if law-abiding citizens don’t have them, too.

They're a nice pistol and I like mine, but as long as I own one it will never, ever become collectible:)

I really love my 40P, but just like almost all things CZ, there is not much of a collector market for them.  There is a little interest in pre WWII and post war military pistols, but that's about it.  So my philosophy regarding my CZ's...shoot the bejesus out of them!!

I got mine for about $300 four years ago, but even though they've gone up some since then, I didn't buy it to make money off it. It is a very accurate and reliable gun, and frankly, it shoots better than my Para Ordnance which cost me over twice as much.

Sell it? Never!

I do not think they will ever become collector guns, but I bought it to shoot it and that it does very well.

Kev:

That sounds about right.  It would depend on if you've got to pay shipping, tax, etc. They are a fabulous pistol and I've just had a ball with mine.  I messed up the finish so I had it redone:

So now I have a unique CZ 40P that is even more unique!! :)

The 40p is scary accurate. I bought mine at J&G for $300.00 My only regret is that I didn't buy the CZ75B for $300.00 when they first had them in stock. To think that I held it in my hand and made the wrong decision still hurts to this day!!! Ha. Anyway, the 40P has already climbed in value and it is a remarkable 40 cal. handgun.

I got mine for $270.00 back in 2006. Should have gotten the other one beside it. Very good pistols and out of the box accurate. Not often i shoot a new pistol and its bullseye, bullseye, bullseye. but this one was. Not super crazy over the decocker but I manage. And always on the look out for another one. Not much of a collector but i like good working, dependable, well made products like everybody else and this one couldn't be bought for double the money I paid.

     Picture this scenario:
10-20 years from now, life has been good to you and you have an extensive collection of CZ products;
including that old beaten frankengun that didnt even make it to th CZ catalog that you like so much.
One day you run into a LNIB matching #'s cz40p with the slide marked cz40B.
While you hold it in your hands, there is a smile on your face you can't undo, you start to cold sweat and you feel butterflies in your stomach. ;D LOL
How much of a premium would you be willing to pay? O0
