Crimson Trace LG-476 for P-01's FYI They Ain't All Rubber
« on: December 04, 2009, 04:42:40 PM »
I just received a set of CT's for the P-01.  (Read this a help for "Older, near sighted eyes" in a dynamic incident.... ::))  Just an FYI for P-01 owners.  Even though they say "overmolded"  the side panel's are just hard plastic >:(.  I was hopping for a true, total rubber side panel, but alas it's not to be.  After a call to C/T, it's the only way they build them for the P-01.  Only the strap which houses the activation switch, that connects to two sides together, is "overmolded" rubber.

A search here on the forum didn't show any info so I hope this helps others.

That is true. We have CTGs on my P-01 and the wife's PCR, and both are plastic panels. I have no trouble keeping ahold of them while shooting, and they are dirt easy to use, good stuff.
There was a run of them marked CZ on the grip when the P01 with CTGs was a factory option.

One of my P-01's has the factory laser grips, I think they had a run of about 2,000 of them when first introduced.
I don't know about you guys but the lens gets dirty pretty quick on mine when shooting it.

.....  I have no trouble keeping ahold of them while shooting, and they are dirt easy to use, good stuff.......

But you have to admit, take the excellent fell of the factory grips, combine them with the advantages of a laser, priceless!   (Well at least a couple of hundred bucks worth of priceless.)

Trying to add a weapons light/laser combination to the rail, and then trying to find a holster that will fit, the word troublesome comes to mind.  I mean now your starting to turn your little P-01 into and AR-15 :-\., less the coffee maker option.....

No, mine never get dirty from shooting, but there should have been a little cuetip looking deal to clean it off.
Yes, they still feel like the originals, great ergonomics and all. 8)

Dadgummit, you guys! Y'all just cost me another $250, including shipping. But, even at that, I figure it's still cheaper than lasik surgery.  :D

Yes, plastic- but they don't hang up on my clothes as much as rubber grips do.

Here's where I bought mine, $216'ish plus S&H.
www.manventureoutpost.com
I've got to admit (danitanyways) last night I shot my new P-01 and tried my irons in low light at 15 yards.  I need to use my mid-range on my tri-focals to see the front sight clearly.  So in a "dynamic critical incident", I need the C/T's to "assure" proper shot placement!  (My eyes are, indeed, not what they use to be.............)

ClarkstonCZ, I've got the same set-up you do.  I love the light, especially the strobe feature! (My P-01 is my first weapon with a rail system)

Thanks to those who mentioned the hard plastic I bought them for my 75B nickle. Did not want the rubber because by carrying IWB I had enough side hair yanked out by my PCR grips b4 switching them to marschalgrips.

Really lucked out - did an elitedealseeker.com search and found a guy selling a set with the right numbers for my 75B in a glock forum brand new in the box for $150 shipped - AWESOME.

Thanks again as I was not going to buy them when others talked about them being rubber.
When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

Ho ho ho... my CT grips arrived on Christmas Eve. Perfect timing. The grips are plastic as reported earlier. Hearing they were NOT rubber is what finally prompted me to order them and they actually feel better than I thought they would, a LOT like the Nills walnut grips that they replaced, just not as purty to look at. Can't wait to get them to the range, hopefully next week. To see what they look like, see Clarkston's post above and ignore the weapon light.
