What sights are on your vz58?
« on: December 07, 2009, 10:54:57 AM »
I recently got my new vz58 in last week.  I order the fab defense handguards and also the fab defense foregrip/bipod.  Now I'm looking into a red dot sight.  I was looking at the Bushell Trophy 1x32 Matte T or the Bushnell Holosight or the Burris Fastfire.  I was wondering what others here have put on their vz58.  Any recommendations I would appreciate.  Thanks in advance.

EOTech 512. I tried BSA, ADCO, and Leapers, the EOTech works great.

Eotech...522... Works like a charm and, when installed on a fine VZ.58 is a real head-turner on the range!

VickG818:
What model of Sightron is that?  How about battery life?  Do you know what size the dots are? I love taking my VZ58 to the range and shooting right next to an AK.  There is always someone who can't understand why my "AK" is shooting so much better than theirs.  When they handle my VZ58 you can see the gears turning.

The battery life is great. I have not changed the battery since I got it about 6 months ago. By accident I left it on last night this morning I checked it out and it still works. The Dots are brighter then any Eotech or Aimpoint, its made in Japan and a lifetime warranty  ;D . Here are the links and reviews to answer all youre questions

That sightron looks very appealing to me.... Right now I just don't have the funds for an Eotech that's why I'm looking at the poor mans Eotech in the Bushnell Holo (http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell-holosight.html)... I've read that it's made by Eotech....

Here is a link to the Bushnell Trophy Matte T Rifelscope

Here is a link to the Burris Fastfire

But keep the suggestions coming....

Yeah a few guys at the range came up to me asking me what I was shooting.... I told them and they really didn't know.... They were all shooting AR15's.....

lemberg, that looks REAL familiar!  ;D You did the same thing I did, left the side rails off, too.
When it comes to electronic sights, I tried cheap, didn't work well. I did use a C-More that worked just fine, but that was a loaner. Those are cheaper than EOtech.
This with the factory folder, too.

C-More would be another great choice...looks well mounted on our FAB-Defense handguard too! BTW, the C-More ALUMINA, the solid aluminum version of a standard plastic one cost as much as EOtech. I've tryed to order one prior to purchasing an EOtech, bur a very few on-line C-More disributors were out of stock for good... Frankly speaking, the OPTIMAL choice would be the original Czech OKO collimator, available ONLY in Europe :( :-\

Straight factory iron sights. They work fine for me out to 100 yards. Not much can go wrong with iron sights. I purchased this rifle for its simplicity and reliability.

+1

I had a red dot scope, but did not like it. I am considering one of the new peep sights though. A green laser sight might be nice also.

That one looks huge, but being Russian, it will take a nuclear blast with some irritation. :)

I would be more interested in night sights than anything else. Like I said, I like iron sights on this rifle. Maybe Czechpoint will come up with something?  ::)

We were working with a vendor a while back on tritium sights for the vz.58, but the required quantities were too large for us to move forward with production.  Who knows, maybe some day?
