I am wondering if even though P-02/07/09 and 75 omega all use the omega system that there are actually different tolerance parts for each. I also noticed that on CZ USA's website that there are 3 different trigger bar disconnectors for the omega system. This could be the issue. Maybe I will order all 3 and test them out as they are relatively inexpensive. I am not to confident in filling the sear. I have seen to many examples of hack jobs for me to do it.

There are differences.

I'm happily awaiting my P-02 to arrive at my FFL from CTD.  I love my P-01 in OD Green, however, I have large hands and grip really high on the pistol and keep engaging the decocker under normal firing operation.  Plus, I want to keep the OD nice and pristine since it's a bit rare :)  Couple of questions?

1.  Does it come with a decocker?

2.  If not, can one be purchased?

I would like the option of installing a P-07 type decocker as those don't get in the way.

Thanks :)

The P-02 was listed in the 2012 USA catalog. AFAIK the ODG P-01 was never listed in the CZ-USA catalog but they have been for sale for several years. Mine is a 2011 and I have seen a 2005 on Gunbroker before.

Replacing the trigger bar disconnector did it. The only problem is the 2 that I ordered from CZ-USA came in the same bag!!! Don't know which one is which. Both were larger in circumference then the original.

So if you don't like the first gen Omega trigger on the P-02 you can order the newer style P-07/09 trigger and both trigger bar disconnectors from CZ-USA and the new trigger should work.

Here is my new P-02.  It has the safety installed and no decocker.  I will track a decocker down just to have, but proably keep the safety.  I like that I can still manually decock 3/4, and still engage the safety.  This comes in real handy when handling the firearm during holstering/unholstering, or leaving it in the car when I can't have it on me due to a GFZ.  Second pic is withe the black VZ frag grips off my P-01.  :)

No decocker available at all on the P-02. Manual safety only. You can't switch it out.

My CZ-75 Compact Omega (P-02) that I purchased in the first run to come over in 2011 came with a safety installed and an included de-cocker. I switched it out in 10 minutes. I run it with the decocker installed. Both were included in the price and in the box.

Yes, it has already been established in this thread that the very first P-02's to be imported could be switched like the P-07 but the later models, like I was referring to, only came with standard safety.

I love the manual decocker (thumb safety only) on my P02, you can manually half cocked it and activate the thumb safety on for more security in mind...cool! or you can cocked it to full with the thumb safety on like 1911 for faster engagement...even cooler!

I just purchased the short reset kit for my P-02, which gave me a reason to disassemble the gun and at the same time polish some surfaces. Pretty straightforward disassembly. Only snag I had was realizing that the ejector was free and pivoted on the sear pin, preventing the removal of the pin. From the parts diagram I realized this and freed the ejector. Of course the tiny spring flew across the room. Fortunately I found it.
The Omega system is quite simple and fewer parts. I polished the sear and hammer notch surfaces, lower half of the hammer that rubs on the frame, part of the trigger base and pivot area and trigger bar, top surface of ejector that rubs on the frame, FPB and lifter arm contact area. I also polished the disconnector where it contacts the hammer. Replaced the hammer spring, FPB spring, extended firing pin and spring,  disconnector and lifter arm with the parts kit. Actually I put back the OEM hammer spring since it is 14lbs vs the 15lb spring in the kit.
Pull weight is almost the same. The only difference I feel is in the smoothness of the moving parts. I have to test the reset when I go to the range.
I also polished the slide rails and that feels buttery smooth when installed in the frame.

Exactly why I got the P02.  I manually decock to 1/3 and then flip the safety on.  This way, while I'm manipulating my firearm during holstering/unholstering, or leaving it in the car when I can't bring it due to a GFZ, it gives me that extra amount of safety.  Once it's holstered and tucked in my AIWB position, I click the safety off.  Which is the same condition it would be if I was carrying my P01.

Some brought up that I'm decocking on a loaded gun.  I'm very comfortable with this since I compete with my Accu-Shadow & 97b in USPSA, IDPA & 3gun.  I've done 100's of times.  I still do it towards a safe area in my residence.  What scares me the most is holstering my firearm in the AIWB position with a hot gun and no safety.    :o

What short reset trigger did you go with? I've been looking at the CGW or the CZcustom.  Did you already do the comp hammer? I have been thinking about running my p-02 at IDPA matches and I've been curious about what other people are running.

I just picked up a slightly used P02 for  $490, is that a fair price? Are they still hard to find?
