1st USPSA Match with Grand Masters
« on: April 04, 2010, 12:03:26 PM »
I attended my first USPSA match yesterday. Todd Jarrett was in our squad as well as some other GM and Master shooters. He was also the RO on my first stage and told me to shoot all Alphas (that didn't help the jitters...and BTW I didn't  :D). It all went off pretty well but I made some stupid mistakes (knocked off extra mag...had to fish an extra out of the pocket...forgot an array of targets..but picked them up when the RO said.."Are you sure you are finished", etc.). The CZ SP01 Shadow (Angus) ran flawlessly through out the stages despite the hot and sandy conditions.  It's been 100% reliable since I changed the ejector angle. I think I was the only shooting one (CZ) out of 100+ shooters. One gentlemen playfully gave me sh*t about it and I said in my best Australian accent (which isn't bad I might say), "F%ck you Yanks and your STI space guns."  ;D It was a good time and a great first experience in USPSA. Who get's to shoot with a legend like Todd Jarrett at their first sanctioned match?

Just one??  LOL...One of my first times out I knocked off 3 mags!  Didn't realize until I was about 20 feet away from them!

By the way, sounds like you're hooked!

Good luck.

One of the great things about our sport is how accessable and friendly the people are, even the pros talking a new shooter through the basics.
