75 D PCR compact converted to SA

Can the CZ 75 D PCR COMPACT be converted to SA through DIY or the CZ custom shop? 

I have little use for a 38oz full size pistol except for range work.  But the small CZ would be something I am interested for personal carry if the trigger geometry was changed to the SA style trigger and the pistol became truly SA.

I am sure Angus will chime in here soon.  In the mean time, you may want to take a look at the Dan Wesson Guardian.  A SA only 9mm that only weighs 1 oz. more than the PCR.

I had a Pointman 9 and a .38 Super converted to 9mm.  Nice concept but I think the CZ SA setup in a compact would be the better fighting 9mm pistol.  My fairly customized G19 is pretty good but I like the CZ slide/frame lashup http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/ab181/graycrait/G19Xtrme.jpg

I would think if you want single action only you would want to start with a gun that doesn't have a decocker. I would think you would want to start with a 75compact or a rami if you want something small. They both have a safety. Mark

I agree with your point of view but I personally do not like rails if I can avoid them, while I like barrel length about 4". That coming from a guy who has rails on his 3 Glocks.  If the PCR won't work then I may think about the 75 Compact.  I've had two full-size 75s, 85 Combat and a P01.  If I could turn the clock back I would have kept the 85. My using centerfire pistols are G17, G19, G26, Beretta 92FS and soon a used compact Beretta 92.  We are switching from Glocks to Berettas at work. I'll keep the Glocks.  However, I have been fiddling with the PCR at my favorite gunshop and was wondering ....

I don't see how you could have a PCR that is single
action only. Are you planning to have the decocker
replaced with a saftey?

the biggest issue I see, unless I'm missing something is carrying it in a ready condition. ( chambered, hammer back) and not having a mechanical safety in place. While it won't fire unless something presses on the trigger. having a mechanical block that is easy to manipulate on the draw would make me feel better.

i was about to post the same question but with a P01... i like everything about the p01 except the decocker...is there a way to change the decocker of the p01 to a safety just like in the 75b/SP01.... if this is possible...it might change my glock 19 as my new favorite......Angus?

Seems like your most reasonable option would be to start with a 75 compact which already has manual safety and then install the SA trigger in it.  Compact has no rail and a steel frame so I guess it will be a little heavier than the PCR or P-01 but I don't see how you can get to your goal by starting with a decocker model.

its because i want the shape and feel of the p01 minus the decocker....im not aiming for an SA only...whats important for me is that i carry cocked and locked...the DA option is a plus (like the 75B). i think ive seen one on the cz sight...just havent seen it in any of the gunstores here in our country

The .40S&W 75 Compact features a frame similar to the P-01 frame, with the contoured beavertail and rail. The 9mm 75 Compact features the more traditional frame. Both are all-steel, and will be heavier than either a PCR or P-01.

There are no lightweight-alloy-framed compact CZs currently available in the states with safeties for C&L carry. (CZ-UB has the P-02, which is a P-01 with the Omega trigger system, allowing the decocker to be swapped for a safety and vice-versa.)

oh i see......so what i saw on the cz site is a .40sw (p01 frame with cocked and locked option)... ill gonna be on the lookout for the one with the omega trigger system

Wow, the question is asked so often that it's a FAQ.  The problem as I see it is with the CZ75 Compact.  I love the way mine shoots (after I installed a higher # Wolf spring), but it's just very heavy for its size.  In my opinion, the Compact needs an aluminum frame.  I also don't care for a rail on a compact pistol, so the PCR would be perfect if it was available with a SA trigger or CZ's regular DA/SA trigger setup.  Angus, how about asking CZ to make the Compact with an aluminum frame?  I'm certain it would significantly increase the number they sell.
