13lb spring sa hammer/ sa trigger and kadet
« on: July 13, 2010, 06:25:29 PM »
So in the near future I will be putting the 13lb hammer spring and sa trigger and hammer on my compact, will this cause any issues with using the kadet kit?

The consensus is that the hammer spring should be heavier for use with rimfire ammo. With the 13# spring, some people have noted light strikes resulting in misfires.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

15# spring should be reliable, I use 13# and yet to have my first light strike.
Cleaning and making sure there is no rust or gunk on firing pin and its channel helps too :D

I have found the 13lb spring to be too light for my Kadet (dozens and dozens of light strikes), but it is just fine for 9mm.  At least 50% of my 85C's shooting is done with a Kadet adaptor, so I've decided to go with a 15lb spring.  I no longer experience light strikes.

Yep, I'll second that. I had a lighter spring in my P-01 (not sure of exact poundage) and had quite a few light strikes with my Kadet kit. With the 16# spring I got from CZ-USA, I only have the occasional light strike.
