Mec-Gar AFC Plus 2 bases?

Ok, regarding full size 75b, the typical factory supplied mags are 16rd capacity.  Mec-Gar has been making their AFC mags for a while now in 17rd and 19rd capacities.  The "plus 2" base pads supplied on the 19rd AFC mags can be purchased separately (http://gregcotellc.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=107&products_id=841).

So, will the "plus 2" base pads work on the factory supplied 16rd mags?  I've got a number of the 16rd mags and wondering whether it would be more economical to pick up a few of the "plus 2" base pads rather than buying a bunch of new 19rd mags.

I recall reading that the mag tube bodies of the 17rd and 19rd AFC mags are identical, and that they may be a little longer than the 16rd mags, but not sure. 

Guessing someone has tinkered with them by knows.  Thanks in advance.

the AFC mag tube is longer than the factory tube and won't seat with the MecGar +2 on it.

I think the Pearce Beretta basepad will fit and add about 3 rounds.

I got some suppossed 19 round factory cz rebuilds to fix some older 16 rounder mec-gars i had and to my surprise they were actually 17 round tubes from mec-gar with the +2 basepads you speak of. I knew they would not fit with my magwell so i took the basepads and put them on the 16 rounders i had and used the beretta base pads on the 17 rounders for a whopping 22 consistent rounds that fits with my magwell. I did have to do some slight modifications to the basepads and followers. I can actually get 23 round in the mags but they sometimes jam so i keep it to 22.
