Since Criminals will always have guns, there’s no reasonable expectation of self-defense if law-abiding citizens don’t have them, too.

Custom refinish by Mac's Shootin' Irons, Tucson, AZ

(color in pic is a little off. The frame is "Dark Earth". Slide is "Satin Black")

It's a good looking pistol. What is it? The lonely stepchild of CZ? You never really hear or see much of it...

When Colt pulled out of the Colt Z40 project CZ sold the remaining pistols as the CZ 40b. They ran out of frames before running out of slides though. So they took the remaining slides and mated them to P-01 frames. They usually need a little fine tuning but after replacing every spring with stronger ones and polishing the feed ramp mine is now super reliable.

As mentioned, the 40P is this slide

(originally sold as the Colt Z40)

on this frame

...and this is mine.

Mine has been flawless after a 200 round break-in.  It has had a Wolff extra power recoil spring, extra power extractor spring, reduced power mainspring, and a full length guide rod installed.  It's a tremendous bargain, although QC seems varied, and they all seem to be a bit undersprung.

My CZ-40P with Crimson Trace grips and Streamlight TLR-1s tactical light. It is boringly reliable now that I have installed a 22# Wolff recoil spring with Steve Bedair FLGR. I have also replaced every magazine spring with a Wolff +10% mag spring. I have three pro-mag compact 40 10 rounders, one Mec-gar 10 rounder, and 2 factory (Mec-gar) 10 rounders. I have installed the rubber mag pads on the pro-mag magazines as I've found it to give just a little extra grip. I have also polished the feed ramp myself and barrel myself.
