Blued CZ82 slide, LPA fiber sights just completed
« on: February 26, 2011, 06:46:25 PM »
Just finished my extra slide and put it on my 1990 CZ82.
I spent maybe 8-10 hours finishing the slide. Once the paint was off I sanded with 200 grit, then 800 grit, 1500 grit and finally 2000 grit sandpaper.
Slide was mirror like, then I polished it with a buffer.

The Birchwood Casey paste blue took about 2 hours total. Each blue step was less than a minute before washing off. Did that about 10 times.

The LPA sights are great for the range, the fiber dots just light up. But no good for a carry gun.

Once I get my CCW and test the spare slide at the range, my matching serial slide will get hard chromed.

Looks great!  Is that the Beretta 92 magazine plate?  That looks good, too!I just put them on both my mags - makes the grip much better for my big hands.

I've heard the CZ-75 sights will fit the -82, the rear sight hanging off the aft end a bit. Haven't tried it though.

I'd like to see a pic of them. The sights above are too tall for my preference.
