What did you end up buying (after asking which gun to get)

Curious to hear from those that have asked, what is the best gun for me to get into competition. If you want to share caliber and game, that would also be great.

I got a CZ75 SA tricked out fully by Matt Mink to be my new IDPA ESP gun for next year. We'll see how I do compared to my M&P 9Pro. I loved my custom shop SP-01, but I didn't want to jump through the hoops to try and get it to make weight.

My choices would be the Shadow for USPSA and the 85Combat for IDPA SSP and the 75SA for IDPA ESP
if you can make the Shadow make weight, it would work for all three. the 85C would work for all three.

I agree with what you are saying as optimal choices if one decides on a CZ.
I am wondering what the guys getting started in shooting games actually purchase after they solicit advice from this forum and others.

gotcha...I started so many years ago before I even knew of CZ, before IDPA, before USPSA had divisions.
So many choices now..curious too of what a new shooter looks for.

I bought the 75B used it for 2 years ....now i own the Tactical....it will be my new gun but not the answer to the question asked. Lotsa love for the gun, just not the answer asked for

I would think it would depend on which type of competition you are looking to get into?  I have a few IDPA matches in my area, and picked up a CZ 75SA Target specifically for IDPA ESP.  So far, it has worked out great.

CZ SP-01 Shadow, 9mm, used in USPSA competition - so far just Production Division. I may try it in Limited Division as well.

I didn't ask the question, but I've gotten a lot of good info here. I bought my first gun in June and have bought 3 more since. I sold my M&P compact to pick up a  P-01. I sent it to CZ Custom to get a little work done, keeping it safe to carry, and plan on shooting IDPA with it as soon as it comes back. Right now I shoot a full size M&P with some Apex Tactical and grip stippling enhancements, and still will in ESP. I attend 3 to 4 matches a month and can't wait to get my P-01 into the mix.

75B Limited.

With the amount of money I'm spending (Gun, Comp Hammer Install, Kadet Kit, FFL Xfer, UpLULA-K) I could have gotten a Shadow Custom. Difference was that I really, really liked the Limited's looks. It's not something I can easily get later. CZ Custom will always have the best production-legal CZ race gun money can buy available for me later when I "need" something more perfect.

I ended up buy almost all of them! Shadow, standard 75, TS, but my favorite was the custom 75 SA.
