Yes, CZ-girl is right, it helps. My wife tried that it was easier but not enough.
If your wife will have still hard time to rack the slide, here is your last chance.
It will cost you some change but it helps.
Send the P-01 to Angus and ask him to change springs that your wife will be able to rack the slide. In my wife's P-01 he installed 11 lbs recoil spring and added another 9 lbs spring to the box, in case that 11lbs will be too strong. He also changed main spring and did the trigger job and other adjustments.
There is one more 'little' expense. If you have two shooters in the family you will need to reload your own ammo, it will save you a lot of $ in the long run. Angus recommended "not to use the factory ammo or +p etc." with this spring. (change it back to original). It might break the slide stop.
I am loading for her the zero bullets over 3.9gr N320. Angus load is 4.1gr. I tried 3.8, 3.7 and 3.6gr and did not have any problems or FTE. To be on safe side I am loading 3.9gr for all my guns.
Before using these light loads she could fired only 30 rounds WWB and her wrist and thumb joint was in pain.( from 35 years typing)
Now she can shoot over 150 reloads. I have to beg her to stop and leave some ammo for me.
One more thing: she is using this wrap around her thumb to have really soft recoil. (see pic)
This is not end of the story.
I bought from Angus P-07 and he did the same changes like to the P-01.
Now the P-01 is her spare or BUG and the P-07 is the greatest gun in the whole wide world.
The only bad thing about this is, she is shooting better than I am.
Hey, for few dollars she is happy shooter and happy wife is happy life.
