Canik vs PO-1 Pics
« on: June 13, 2011, 01:34:14 AM »
The Canik is really nice and the internal finish is really good, when I get a little better I'll try and post the innards. They are different because of the decock vs single action type actions. I would like to see a picture of the CZ Compact with a safety instead of a decocker. The Canik feels lighter then the CZ PO-1. My scale at the moment doesn't want to co-operate. I'lltry and get to the range and give a better report. The trigger feels a little rougher than the CZ, but it is a new tight pistol.  The CZ in the picture has night sights on it. Bill

What is a Canik? Other than a CZ clone. It looks like an exact copy of a regular 75b compact.

**Never mind I did a search. They are Turkish made copies of a CZ 75 imported into the US. They do look nice though. **

It looks like a pretty exact copy. What do they cost?

On the website the MSRP was a little less than a CZ.

I bought this one for $350.00 on Gun Broker and think it is a bargain. The black version had a starting bid for less. This was the second time I've seen them new on G.B. You might want to contact Canik USA which is in Colorado and see if they are going to put anymore on G.B.   Bill

Compare the triggers for me on the 2 guns. The P-01 trigger I am very fimiliar with.

Recoilguy, I haven't shot it yet, the wind came up really gusty and I couldn't use my outdoor shooting area. Taking into account the gun hasn't been fired yet. The D/A onthe Canik has a harder, heavier trigger pull, feels like the hammerspring is a a pound or two more. The S/A is interesting in that the CZ PO-1 has a distinct two feel pull and the hammer moves  noticibly back before letting go, not so on the Canik, it has a little creep but a clean break. I think the Canik trigger should improve with some use. Hopefully the weather will co-operate tomorrow and I can fire a few rounds thru the Canik ;)..Bill

Maybe a lighter hammer spring would lessen the double action pull.
