Do these marks look normal for a new CZ-75b?
« on: May 29, 2011, 02:19:04 AM »
Hi all,

I just picked up a CZ-75b that was supposedly never shot before.

Do these marks look normal for a new pistol?  If not, can you give me an idea on how used you think it may be?  Thanks,

-Freq

fyi,  Most mfg (all that i know of) test fire their guns at the factory.  So when people say or people think they are vigin guns, theyre not.  also, depending on how they are packaged/shipped, they may show "handling" wear.

I don't know if CZ still does it, but back about 15 years ago or so I read a story about how they would load several racks of completed CZ's in a machine of some sort(described in the article as a looking like a large dish washer!) that was filled with oil and would automatically cycle each pistol about 500 times. I haven't bought a brand new CZ in several years, but the ones I bought back in the 90's were drenched and dripping in oil. They were shipped in a sealed plastic bag then. Not to mention all firearms are test fired at the factory, they should have a target in the factory paperwork.

looks normal
CZ does not do a lot of finishing on the insides of the gun. you'll find a few tooling marks, etc.
