Glad you finally get this back and together. Looks great. I don't think I ever posted mine in here, just my own thread.

It's not done yet... obviously! I'm waiting on a few parts to get here before it gets put back together.
Had the frame Durakoted AFTER I had cold blued the slide with Vans instant gun blue.
It's actually darker than it looks in the photo.... it was overcast outside when I took the picture.
I may stick with that, or go a different route. I'll see how I like it after Frankengun get reassembled! ;)

Hey, I've got a dumb question, but I figured I'd ask all of you who've done this already.
When mine was Durakoted, I forgot to mask off the feed ramp and the guy sprayed it black along with the rest of it. Before I realized how easy Durakote came off, I was worried about the ramp being 'koted.
Now I've changed directions and plan to take it and get it Cerakoted, and am wondering how you guys dealt with the feed ramp. Did you mask it off, and if so, with what?
Or did you just coat it?
I'm thinking it should NOT be coated, but thought I'd ask for some advice.

You know what will work ,,,,is if you take some vasoline  and coat the ramp. Paint  won't stick to it and then you can wipe it off before you heat the gun to cure the paint

My feed rsamp got Cerakoted and still runs just fine. I don't think it's thick enough to hurt it, but maybe it's not as slick as bare polished metal would be?

BigK, thanks for that . I was wondering about that. So you haven't had ANY feed problems due to that? That's good to know. I'd rather not mess with the masking and what not. The guy doing the work didn't think it was going to be a big problem either.
BTW, I saw your pistol and I think I may go with that combo.
Do you have any regrets using that color combo, like it being hard to keep clean on the lighter color? It looks REALLY nice!
It's a toss up between Graphite Black/Stainless and Graphite Black/Flat desert Earth.
I'm going to wait till I get to the shop and look at the color charts in person. I saw another pistol on the net with Graphite/FDE and it looked nice. Decisions, decisions....
