Staked front sight on preB 75
« on: October 18, 2011, 06:04:01 PM »
How does the front sight come off the slide?  Does it come off straight up?  What is the best way to remove the sight?

Are there any fiber optic sights available for this gun?

You haven't had a response for several days.  I don't know how the come off but the posts here suggest there are NO drop in aftermarket replacements.  You can either mill to install new sights or stick with the OEM one.

Thanks for your response,  I talked to Matt at Cz.  They are pinned and pressed into the slide.  There are no after market sights available but the one on the gun can be replaced with one just like it.

It makes more sense, also if it means not leaviong it original, to have a dovetail cut into the slide to fit a greater variaty of front sights.

I know, this version is pretty high, but since I only shoot for competition and my rear sight is fairly high as well, it fits fine.

I have given up on changing out the front sight on this 75, I actually drilled out the two white dots on the ear and inserted 1.5mm green fiber optic tubes,  Painted the front sight Fluorescent orange and I have a real shooter,  I'm an old guy (72) and right handed. My left eye is a lot better than my right so I shoot "Cross Dominant"   Looks kind of funny with the cant of the gun but it sure works.  Much cheaper than a mill job on the slide.. I have a P07 that has the slot for after market sights.  It shoot almost as well as the longer barrel of the 75.

Thanks for your responses and your pictures, that's a real nice job you have done or had done.  Good luck in your competitions.

A few months ago, I saw a set of adjustable LPA sigts for the Pre "B", including a new front sight.
But the problem here in germany is, that hardly any gunsmiths have the needed tools to replace the front sight on the Pre "B".

Ans to my Pre "B", yes it was a hard days work just doing the cuts and making the custom front sight aswell as the custom rfear sight blade.
But in the end, it turned out very nice and my friend, who did the work for me, did a superb job. Also the triggerjob he did is super.

He deactivated the DA and made the Pre "B" a SA Pistol. He installed a new trigger with adjustable triggerstop and reduced the triggerweightpull to just about 1100gramms.

Here a pic of the finished pistol:
