Try youtubing "refinishing cz82 grips"
I did mine like that and its a temporary fix until you get new ones.
I used 600 grit sand paper and hoppes gun oil

Here's another vote for Paul at designergrips.com.

Lots of Kevlar backing in his grips and I've got mine snugged nice and tight. And they've yet to loosen up like the originals did after a session at the range. I don't know for sure but I suspect grip loosening led to the big crack on the left side original grip.

Whatever. Botton line, I got a nice set of ivory colored grips and they're a nice contrast to the black paint. Classy look for a sweet shooting pistol.

The grip screws are working out, put them back with a drop of red Locktite, my grips haven't come loose since.

CZ-USA--but a nice set of Marschal's really spices one up!

Some of Dennis' early work (2006) installed on a safe queen CZ83 of mine

I have another question for you regarding the original CZ-82 black grips Dennis made for you.  Do they look identical, in terms of 'shiny/polished' black like the original or are the a duller matte finish?  From your picture they look identical to the originals which is what i want

I would say identical

That was my goal when I ordered mine as well.... I wanted "original" but stronger.
I am very satisfied... you will feel the difference just as soon as you tighten the screw and a grin comes across your face.

Also, mine is an early 84 production model, the current CZ83 grips do not fit without a lot of fitting.... these bolted right on

BTW,
Paul = black grips
Dennis = wood

;)

I was expecting to do fitting when I bought my grips from CZ-USA, but they attached to my 82 with VERY minor fitting. My 82 was made in 1989. Those reinforced grips sound very tempting however.

Alenworn....here's a link to samples of Paul's work at Designer Grips:

http://www.designergrips.com/samples/CZ/82/

Lots of interesting color combinations, with our without texturing. They are very well made and have LOTS of Kevlar reinforcing. I went with ivory just for something different. I like the way they look and the way they feel. Very good value at $35. And his turnaround time for ordering is great too. Less than a week from ordering to delivery.
