For anybody from California reading this thread I very strongly urge you to read all related info at page links I posted above for Calguns forum. The legal information there is from lawyers and legal activists in the CA system and Calguns Foundation, a legal defense organization. Even there you'll find misinformation in forum member posts but the lawyers that actually know the law straighten it out.
These are felony issues that could potentially cause long incarceration in jail & state prison, large $1,000's in legal fees, permanent loss of rights to gun ownership and a record that will follow you for the rest of your life.
The only way that any magazine capacity larger than 10 rounds is legal in CA is if you owned it/them before the AWB Assault Weapons Ban of the year 2000, that is the one & only legal way.
Anything else of modifying, purchasing higher capacity, purchasing higher capacity parts kits to modify existing mags or anything else is illegal, a felony. We all know it's lame-brained but it is the law, period. AWB repeal has no effect on CA 'High Capacity Magazine Ban'.
