Dosent have to be nylon, but I like the attached mag holster. I have heard leather is "ok", kydex is the newest rave, nylon is "so so." I have a knife with a Kydex sheath and its got significant scratches all up and down the blade from not a whole lot of draws. Knife is kept in my boot with jeans covering it, so there cant be too much debries falling into the sheath itsself. So im not to partial to Kydex unless they line it with something.
