Real vs. fake BD Police
« on: February 28, 2012, 04:58:16 PM »
All,

I am new here. I am keen on getting a CZ 75 and have been to my dealer. He showed a 75 BD and said it was the police version. The slide does not have Police printed on it. Looking at the gun's description there is no wat to tell it's a Police. However on the Pacaking carton it clearly says "CZ 75 BD Police 9mm caliber". THe serial on the gun and the carton barcode match up. The sku # is 91131.

I am not sure if there is a loaded chamber indicator on this gun. I did not check for it. There is a lanyard loop and the raised magazine eject button.

Do any of you know if this is indeed a Police version. Is it possible that the slide has been switched? The dealer says it's brand new.

Is there a definite way to figure out if this is a "CZ 75 BD Police" or just a "CZ 75 BD". Thanks a lot for your replies and suggestions.

I just bought one that says 75BD Police as well. My manual says the only difference between the Police and the regular BD is a chamber loaded indicator but who knows.

Get the serial and model # and call CZ. They will tell you.

Per your suggestions, I called CZ-USA with the serial # and they confirmed it's a Police. The rep said that it is common for some of the Police Versions not to have "Police imprinted" on the slide.

Thank you all for the replies and advise. I am picking this up on Friday. Please suggest any helpful links for CZ 75bd. Thanks.

My cz75bd police model has checkered front and back straps a lanyard loop,  loaded chamber indicator, and doesn't say police on the slide.

It's normal,  don't worry :)

Some say POLICE on the slide, some don't. Not sure why. Mine does not say POLICE although I wish it did.
