Last week I just happened to walk into a newer gun shop in my area mostly just to window shop a little and kill a little time. I was thinking or getting an another AR or perhaps one of the new XDm Compacts in either 9mm or .45 so wasn't even looking for a CZ and since most shop down here don't even carry them I normally order my CZ through Angus. Well as I'm walking around the counter I notice a CZ 75 SS and an SP-01 and then a saw a really neat looking gun right beside the SP-01 it looked kind of like an SP-01 minus the rail. So I looked a little closer and low and behold it was the fabled CZ 97 DB. Now I've heard that the grip is big and that many people don't like it, I don't have big hands but it actually fit me just fine. It was at that point I knew the promise to the wife of no new guns for a while was off and this one was coming home that night.
A couple of days later I took her to the range and ran 100 rounds of 230 gr FMJ through her with no problems. At present this is the best .45 I think I've shot I even like it better than my Dan Wesson 1911's. The recoil on the 97 is very light so light in fact that had it not been for the large holes in the target I would have thought I was firing a 9mm. Now I just have to find a few extra magazines so I can try her in USPSA Limited 10 div.
This is one fine shooter and I'm very happy I took the plunge.
