Hi guys,

Greetings from Down Under!

I'm a relatively new shooter and I own a CZ 75B Limited Edition (or Special Edition as its also know as).  I'm hoping you can assist me with a small dilemma I have.

Can anyone recommend any adjustable sights for this gun that doesn't require milling or machining of the slide? I purchased the LPA sight 0420-0621-02ND as I was advised that this was the correct one for this gun. However after taking it to a gunsmith to install, he advised me that it was impossible to fit this on properly without machining the rear of the slide to allow proper up and down adjustment.  He said the issue is the little raised area behind the dovetail groove. I was very disappointed as I'm not too keen on getting the firearm machined, hence I'm wondering if you are familiar with and can advise any adjustable sights for this gun that wont require machining. Would I also need to change the front sight as well?  I tried to attach pics of the gun but couldn't work out how to do it properly. Any-ways, its just a standard limited edition model.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

welcome to the forum from another down under.
i think the sight you have is the tpu. it should fit but if you dont machine the slide you will need a taller front sight.
remember if you machine the slide you put youself out of ipsc production if you play the game.

Nasty I also tried to get the rear sight which would not need machining...bit the bullet and got the same sight you did took off a smidgen from the slide ,fitted a fiber optic front and the thing shoots like a dream...cant use it for ipsc production only standard but who cares..its freed me up to tweak my trigger and made shooting the old girl soo much fun ;)

The packaging on the sight I purchased has the following:

0420-0621-02ND
HLEDI LPA
REAR SIGHT LPA

This isnt the TPU sight is it? If someone can let me know how to inset pictures into posts, I can post up some pictures.

Thanks Johnnyrees.....so does that mean that I have no choice but to get the slide machined or is there perhaps another type or brand of adjustable sights that I can purchase which wont require machining??

Mate there might well be....but after a couple of months of searching I spat the dummy and went for the one I have on my gun...I do use the gun to shoot all the time at the range be it ipsc, service pistol or any other centerfire discipline...bear in mind my gun is an ordinary 75b not a stainless limited edition so I can understand your reluctance to machine the slide ;)

  • It's a trap!!
G'day Nasty. What will the gun be used for? If you are just shooting IPSC may I suggest the tactical rear sight (fixed sight) and fibre front? That's what I have on my LE Stainless and they are fantastic.  Just an idea.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!  :)

Why do you need the adjustable sight?
If you need to change the POA, specially if your gun is shooting higher, get a higher front sight. Factory sight height is 5.5mm, and every 0.5mm is about 3" at 25mtrs. But the POI will change with ammunition, an inch here or there. For precise work, you will have to get some other model of adjustable sights.

And +1 to Admiral Ackbar also..
Life is too short to waste on a bad trigger pull

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the feedback. Im a relatively new shooter and currently I am only shooting Centrefire matches. Down the track, I wou;d love to get into other disciplines such as IPSC.

I am looking for an adjustable sight is beacuse im trying many different loads and currently I am sick of my gun shooting high and to the left.  I know that the gun probably shoots better than me but it would be nice to adjust as needed.  I actually found a really nice set up adjustable fibre sights (front and back) from Fusion firearms but I am worried if I will face the same issue.

Has anyone used these fibre sights before? Good pricing as well.
