CZ 97B vs FNP 45 USG

Hi, I love my CZ 75B SA and also own an FNP 45 and Springfield 1911.
The FN 45 has a reputation as a large grip but I have no issues with it.
I and am now looking at at CZ97B but have not been able to put my hands on one locally.
I am wonder if someone has been able to compare the FN45 and the CZ 97?
Also is the trigger on the 97B as easy to smooth out as the 75B?

Yes, it is smooth.
According my opinion CZ 97 is better handgun then  FNP 45

I just traded up to an FN 45 Competition model but I am still interested in getting a CZ 97.
Any ideas on weight difference? When I ask at a gun store I just get " man that CZ in one heavy pistol" Not real useful...  I am looking for a nigh stand and occasional range gun.
Recommendations?

You have been given incorrect information.  A CZ-97B weighs 40.64 ounces empty.  A Springfield Armory Trophy Match with all the bells and whistles (for example) weighs 40.0 ounces empty.  A Colt Series 70 (plain vanilla) 1911 weighs 37.5 ounces.  I doubt anyone could subjectively tell the difference by just holding any of these back-to-back in their hands. 

I really have a hard time with uneducated gun store gurus.

Having had a 97 w/ a competition hammer and corresponding springs for one helluva a sweet trigger.  I find myself drawn to the FNP45 Competition / Tactical myself. 

I'm also looking at the FNP from a more "practical" standpoint, which is funny because I had my 97 tricked out for USPSA...  But I think the FNP would be an outstanding nightstand gun with a light on it.  I also have no issues with it and actually prefer it's width as hand filling as compared to the 97.

All that said, the 97 will stack bullet on top of bullet time after time again...

The real question is what are you really looking for...?

Of course, in my opinion, anyone who can actually afford an FNP can afford to give them both a try...   

The 97 isn't heavy at all.  Weight is one thing, balance is another.  It feels great and I sincerely doubt you'd regret the addition.

Looks like you're stuck between a rock and a hard place now.  He he...

Thanks Schmeky, Over the past few years I have received a lot of good information from you.
I weighed the FN on a postal scale and empty it shows 29.6 ounces and my Lightweight Operator is 31.9 ounces.
That gives me a starting point. Basically I just need to find one in a shop and see how it feels.
I have been spoiled by the CZ's I have owned. After converting the regular 75B's to SA, removing the FPB, polishing the innards, adding a lighter mainspring, the triggers are nice and light. If I can duplicate this with a 97B then I just need to own one sooner rather than later.
Also I see BudsGuns has them for sale again!
AbyssDnr: you are right I will probably need to own both as I like the three 15 round mags that come with the FN  Comp gun. So far, I am disappointed at the cost of the Trijicon and Docter mini reflex sights. I thought the pre-slotted slide on the FN would make it easier for these old eyes to find the target but overlooked the $300 cost for the optics...Oh well...
