2 new & customized 97's on the way from the Custom Shop
« on: June 05, 2012, 09:37:53 PM »
I placed an order for a 97 DB & a 97 from the custom shop I'm having work done to both DB comp hammer, 97 new sights, trigger work, comp hammer, larger safety. Well I just received the email that they shipped and should be here tomorrow. I can't wait I'll post a range report once I get a chnce to hit the range with these two.

Nice! When did you order them? Just wondering because I placed an order roughly 3 weeks ago for a 97B with the upgraded hammer and tuning, and I don't want to bother the busy guys out there just to ask how long my excited and impatient ass has to wait for their artwork to be finished :o

Well, looks like I played it right! Just got home from work and checked my email - it just landed in the shipping pipeline today. Can't wait to see it, hold it, squeeze it...!

Well I finally got to the range to shoot both (sorry no pics yet) and they are both shooters. As can be expected the 97 B was a much smoother than the DB version. Both were 100% reliable with 230gr FMJ, American Eagle as well as Blazer Aluminum cased. I have yet to try hollow points in either as my local indoor range only let's you shoot the ammo they sell and their SD ammo is pretty costly so I'll have to wait until I can get to the local outdoor range for a report on using non SD rounds in my 97's, after hearing of some issues with hollow points & 97's i did have the Custom Shop do a little work to make them more hollow point friendly.
