CZ 85D SDP
« on: June 27, 2012, 07:01:21 AM »
Not sure if this fits here, but I recently purchased an 85D SDP in 9MM from CZ Custom and was wondering if anyone else has one. It's basically a SP-01 with an 85 compact upper that's described by CZ Custom as a rare find. (05 stamped on the upper) Trigger, hammer, SST guide rod, extended firing pin , and Heinie straight 8 nite sights and slim aluminum grips are the mods. Awesome set up and point and aim is fantastic. 350 rounds with not one failure. Feels exactly like a scaled down version of my SP-01 Custom - exactly what I wanted. I'm not as accurate yet with the open sights ( I have a C More STS on my Sp-01) ,but getting better with each round  ;D Impressions ?

there are some of the compact 40SW rollmarked both 75 and 85.
have seen and handled both.

That is great.  I look at the "factory" pistols at the CZ Custom website but rarely look at the "custom" section.

The only issue I am not crazy about is the heavier front frame for the light.  I like the look of the smoother frame of my PCR a little better.

Now you guys make me think about selling three other pistols to finance this one.  You guys are just enabling my addiction.

I was already despicable, long before it was cool!

I sold two plus a couple hundred bucks cash - couldn't pass it up  ;D I'm not that familiar with the PCR, but I did want the rail , since I plan to add a TLR-4 once I get really used to the Heinie sights. IMHO the balance and feel are great.

Nice looking pistol, I would like one of those myself. Can't decide whether to send mine off, or buy another one. :-\

Tough decision, but depending on what you wand/need , CZ Custon will steer you in the right direction.
What pistol do you have now ?

Just my opinion, but the 75 compact or one of the P-01s. Not sure if they are stock triggers, but that's what I like the best plus the Heinie sight is easier for my old eyes. Stuart or Rob at CZ Custom are the best for good advice. Or since you already have a great collection of CZs - what's one more ?  :D
