My 85C had been working flawlwessly since the begginning and I enjoy it more an more. Just buy one and get used to it !
If I ever get good at shooting it, I'll make all the tweaks so I can see if I get better !

Vincent, another thought here:  An improved  trigger action is "easier" "to get good at shooting".  It doesn't make the gun more accurate, but it does make the gun easier to shoot more accurately and faster.

It depends on the gun and how well it was fitted at CZ.  My 75B had a decent trigger.  That's it.  It wasn't bad and it wasn't fantastic.  I gave it 400 rounds to break in before I made any decisions on trigger.  I went all out...SAO conversion, comp hammer, resprung the entire gun, fully polished internals, extended firing pin, removed FPB/lifter, you know...the works!

My byproduct was an absolutely AMAZING trigger pull!  It breaks at 2.75 pounds and is 100% reliable with CCI primers.  There is no creep, no hammer camming, and positive reset.  What more could you ask for?

Well, my wife decided she was getting interested in shooting and wanted a CZ Duo Tone.  When her gun arrived, I was blown away.  I would say it was 90-95% as good as my worked over trigger out of the box.  The hammer didn't have any camming.  Zero.  None.  Nada.  For a brand new gun, the trigger was bleep impressive.  It was just a little gritty where the FPB lifter starts lifting, but that has disappeared in the first 200 rounds.  The slide is still breaking in and it still feels gritty when racking, but the trigger is pretty much good to go.  I can't really see myself doing many mods to this gun.  It just shoots so nicely as it sits.

Each gun is a thing of its own.  Some require more attention than others, and some are good to go out of the box.  Remember that these aren't target grade guns...they are combat grade.  There is a big difference.  Combat grade guns are built around reliability first and foremost.  Target guns put reliability to second place in favor of accuracy improvements, such as trigger quality.

Hm, I shot my instructor's gun during orientation at the range, limited experience but I liked the trigger just fine for what it's worth.

As I stated in another thread my 75b out of the box had a great trigger, now that being said this is the first hangun I ever shot so I have nothing to compare it to. Single action was smooth and crisp very easy to pull.

Did you ever make up your mind on the CZ? Seen your post over on another forum and replied there a few days back.

You have to remember, you planed on getting a Sig Elite version... the CZ, even with the cost of some parts and trigger job will still cost less, and the trigger will be better than the Sig... to get the Sig trigger to be as good or better would mean a trigger job for it as well.  8)

Have been away for weeks and just read this thread.

My 75B trigger was very 'iffy' in creep (but S/A let-off was pretty nice once it was 'reached') even after polishing and CGW spring kit and appx 250 rounds fired.

After letting sons each shoot appx. 100 rounds thru pistol last week, it is amazing how much better the trigger suddenly became, both S/A and D/A tho S/A was really noticeable and even creep is less.  I was anticipating many more rounds fired to get even this far, but am now expecting another improvement very soon. Seriously considered changing to S/A only before this little 'milestone' but am now happier than I thot I would be  ;D

I guess shooting it makes a world of improvement in an already great firearm.

I think the CZ75 B Model's trigger would of never been called into question if the older Pre B wouldn't of had such a nice trigger. Most stock B Models compare very nice to what S&W, Beretta, Sig Sauer, Ruger, CZ Clones, and others offered on their traditional double action automatics. As stated by others, time spent dry firing (with snap caps or similar protection.) or range time will help these parts smooth out. Or one can buy aftermarket parts from CGW, CZ Custom, or similar shops, or send it in to a CZ mechanic for tuning. The important thing to remember is you have an excellent handgun with the potential to be a great handgun, the basics are there.

so true,  excellent guns.. my CZ75B .40 has a wonderful trigger.. wouldn't touch anything at this point to 'attempt' an improvement.

cheers

Just another vote from experience here.  I've found that CZ triggers always improve with use.  My carry and my competition gun have stock triggers and they do not limit or hold me back in any way.  I did have a "trigger job" done on a 75B at one time in the past, mainly because of the hammer camming, but I concluded it didn't make enough difference to do it with any other CZs.  The one CZ 75 SA I've used had a trigger that was not quite up to 1911 standards, but was adequate.  My recommendation for anyone looking at CZs is just shoot it.  It'll get better over time and you'll get more used to it as it does.

When I first got my 75B Omega the trigger was very gritty.   When I field stripped it and pushed the plunger on the Firing Pin Block you could feel the roughness there.   I decided to shoot the pistol the way it was and do a trigger job and polish the FPB later.   I still haven't got around to doing it but a while back I was doing some dry firing practice getting ready for a match and I realized how smooth it had become on its own.

I have been using my stock 75 B and the trigger in cocked SA mode is amazing and I am so impressed with the crisp reset. Maybe better than my Glocks'.

When her gun arrived, I was blown away.  I would say it was 90-95% as good as my worked over trigger out of the box.

My 2012 SP01 9mm was 100% better than my 2009 SP01 40 S&W. I had a trigger job done on the 40 and the smith said he removed about 50% of the material in the internals. It feels pretty sweet now but I still find myself preferring the 9mm due to the trigger curve or something else related. The 40 gave me a blister and a callous on the inside edge of the first knuckle of my trigger finger. The 9mm never hurt me. I can literally shoot it all day long.

So yeah, every gun is its own creature, but some are better than others, luck of the draw or improved manufacturing techniques/QC over time.

Has anyone else bought 2012 CZ's that feel better out of the box?

This very very true and a very valid point.

I own and shoot more then 1 CZ, Ny competition gun has some trigger work done on it and it shoots like butter. I wish I could shoot it to the potential it has to be shot at!!!!! My other CZ or CZ's are all stock triggers. They all are nice triggers and all have gotten much better with some bullets going down range. My newest purchase had a great trigger right out of the box. Best stock trigger of any of the CZ branded guns I own. Trigger work is not required and stock trigger barely qualify as horrible. I am glad I had some work done on the competition gun, even Pete Milionios an ex team CZ guy was very impressed with my trigger. At least he said he was.

I think the answer depends on your intentions.  What are you going to do with this pistol..??  My 75B matte stainless has a stock trigger that breaks cleanly at 4.5 pounds and I like it just fine for what I use it for, which is casual shooting at a lot of different steel targets (think Hickok45 youtube type stuff)...  Are CZ triggers horrible...??  Not at all and they just get sweeter with use...  On the other hand, if you intend to shoot competitively then by all means, get some custom work done.  If not, then put that money in ammo and go have fun.....
