ineteresting day at the range today
« on: September 03, 2012, 04:30:48 PM »
We actually did a shoot and greet today since a co worker wanted to buy a 40SW based on a cop buddies word. I told him, well, he should SHOOT one first. They do have a lot of oomph.

So today we took him to the range and he got to shoot:

Ruger LCP
Polish P64 9mm makarov
Czech CZ82 ditto caliber
Springfield XD9SC
Springfield 45 ACP compact
FNP 40 SW
Beretta CX4 45 ACP

He liked the CZ82 best ... he indeed did not care for the recoil of the 40. And as expected he and everybody else just shot one ragged hole with the carbine in 45 ACP (really nice for home defense).

His 8 year old son was the real surprise, he shot better than most anybody else! And low and behold, the CZ82 fit his small hands best.

I have a nagging suspicion my co worker might actually go for the CZ82 since his wife also has smaller hands and it impressed him a great deal how well his 8 year old was able to shoot that gun.

Always glad to see another CZ convert.

My wife likes the fit and feel of my CZ82 9mm Mak but prefers the milder recoil of her CZ83 .380 ACP.

A Polish P64, awesome that is the first gun I purchased. It's nice to carry, but the double action is super hard. It's followed up by a hair trigger on the SA. I actually accidentally bump fired it a few times.

I tried to shoot the P64 DA and could not do it. Yesterday we had one bear among the shooters and I asked him to try it. He was able to yank the trigger but had to use all his strength... ;-)
