since I am posting my VZ61 project I thought I might add this one here, in case any of you wonder how accurate a CZ52 might be with a scope......

This project was done a few years ago, the optic mount is a modified S&W41 side-mount. Mounting points are throught the center (hold-open pin) hole (#6 screw, if I remebered right) and the lanyard loop hole (#3 screw). No permenent modification to the pistol, fully reversable.

The mount is solid. Using a scope sure makes shooting the 52 much easier and more enjoyable, but the accuracy results are disappointing. I tried 2x handgun scope, reddot, reflex, the 5 shot groups are all more or less the same, only a little smaller than with the factory irons sights. S&B FMJ shoots a bit better than Czech 1953 mil-surp, as expected, but still not quite the "target accuracy" I was hoping for. At 12yd the first 3 shots are usually quite close, the group then opens up a bit as the barrel heats up.
I think the problem is that there is quite a bit of play between the barrel/slide/frame, a frame-mounted optic is not really the right kind for a floating barrel pistol like the CZ. A barrel-mount will be ideal but there is no exposed barrel to clamp onto.
Anyway, enjoy.
