527 m 7.62x39

Did anyone get rings with their 527M? Just put a down payment on one with no rings but factory new. Wpod isnt that pretty on thos one, but it ws the only one left. Lgs selling it for 640.00.

  Got my 7.62 recently at a gun auction. N I B  but no rings either. No interest in the gun from the bidders so I was able to get a new rifle for $375. Found some rings on ebay and an extra magazine for $30 each. This is a fine light-weight carbine. It will see duty as a Hog-Gun for me shortly.

With the accuracy reports i see, it looks like around two inches with factory stuff. Should i be wary of using this as a deer gun? I' ll be shooting almost exlusively at 50 yds or closer.

I don't think they have ever made a lever gun or anything in that caliber.

I just picked mine up today. I hadn't expected it to come with rings, so I'd already ordered a set directly from CZ. I know they're expensive, but they're of high quality and designed for this rifle. Cute little gun, with very nice wood!

Hi all,

I have this gun in 7.62X39.  The accuracy is not what I expected.   I have it scoped with a Leupold 2-7, and get 1.5-2" @ 100 Y. with my best hand loads or premium factory ammo.   I slugged the bore to find .3008 X .3126.  That's quite the spread with a loarge groove diameter.  I wonder if that is what is keeping the grouping loose.  The biggest diameter bullets I 've used are Sierra 125g pro hunter which measure .3115"  There's no front bedding pillar and prehaps a bedding job would help.  Also, the crown is interesting with a very small flat surface in the recess.  I heard these carbines were originally intended for a smaller calibre.  Has anyone out there pushed this gun to its limits with target shooting?

I don't have the 527 (yet) but I do have a Ruger M77 Mark II chambered in 7.62x39 that I used for deer hunting back in the early 90's when I bought it.  It worked just fine in the thick brush at 50 yards.  Fun gun to shoot - will look for the CZ eventually.

ExCDNGuy, did you load with .308" bullets?  or buy factory ammo?  I heard that gun was made with a .308 bore, which would make reloading a heck of a lot easier with options.

I was using factory ammo for the most part.  I didn't reload back then but might in the future.  I didn't know the .308 bore part - might leave it open to some nice options. 
Fun gun - also "pretty" if I may say so. Black composite stock - with wood hand inlays - stainless barrel and action - topped with a 1.75-5 power scope.
