How does your accuracy compare with the HBFN vs the HBRN? With my limited testing with AA#5 I think the flat nose may be more accurate.
M39nut, that's what I'm up to now. I just loaded 100 with n320 to give them a trial run---probably next Tues..
My chrono tests were with 10rds X 2 loads, two targets on one backing were at 12yds, standing offhand. The 128PF group (shot last) was strung N-S about 3" and all within 1/2" or less of the N-S centerline. 3 in or touching the 1"bull, the others above & below it.
The bullet seemed to be doing it's job. I'll try to catch up to it. I have no feel for it yet.
Now that I've got some to play with, I can compare how they/I do against the 124 HBRN and the Zero 125JHP with feed reliability, draw and first DA shot, target transitions and varying ranges and targets out to 25yds.. I'm no great shot, but I do know what I can do reliably (mostly
) with the other two bullets for comparison.
P.S. I had good feelings toward the AA#5 loads I tested, just haven't pursued it --yet.
For me, the 125JHP and n320 powder are both very good+ in all the important characterics for action shooting. Are they together the most accurate...no. The 124HBRN comes close.
