quick question there what if your out and about when whatever goes down and the attacker(s) are blocking the only exit so leaving isn't an option?

I never use fmj in a 9mm carry loadout.  If they seek cover it is my cue to exit stage left.  My goal is to stop the attacker or safely disengage if possible.

You'd be hard pressed to concoct a realistic fact scenario where the attacker is hiding and blocking your only exit at the exact same time.  Personally, I go with a reliable JHP (Federal HST).  Once I've ensured it fed reliably in my Pro-tek, I stuck with it.  I've never seen the need to carry FMJ.

I suppose I could jump out of a 2nd-story window, but I'd rather not do that.  I shattered a heel several years ago.  Despite three operations it never did heal properly.  And, my running days went away when the heel shattered.  Thus, I have no choice but to stand my ground.  I'm the perfect companion on a camping trip in bear country, because anyone could outrun me, leaving me behind for bear bait.

Especially after 10 or more shots have been fired. From what  read, most of the BG's only carry a gun to threaten, not for any real defensive reasons. First sign that a citizen has a gun, whether he knows how to use it or not, he's gonna be the one getting outta there. Now if the citizen shows some kinda trained response, that's time for a double high-tail.

I believe a quality gun with quality 9mm ammunition  is 'enough gun' for SD.
I'm fearful of using an upper load data FMJ in a neighborhood or populous environment.
