First Handgun's a Phantom, converting it to CCW
« on: November 02, 2012, 06:09:03 PM »
I recently just joined the CZ club and I love my Phantom. However, going stock it seems a bit BIG for a CCW gun. Eventually I want to move to a compact or even smaller gun, but for right now it's the Phantom.

Here's what I was thinking about doing to it:

  • Mec-Gar 16 round flush fit mag
  • Flush fit Mainspring Housing (It they exist, basically removing the lanyard loop)
  • Steel Recoil Spring Guide (Any idea where to find these since CZ's out of stock?)
  • Night Sights, would http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/2-MPL17777 from CheaperThanDirt work?
  • All this put together and carried in a Old Faithful IWB holster

So basically Where can I find the flat mainspring housing, the steel recoil guide (that a full size one right?), and night sights?

I appreciate the help. I love the gun as it, but as a CCW piece I think it can work quite nicely.

I'd look to CZCustom for all those parts.  For the guide rod, you can also check out Steve Bedair's guiderod.com.  Steve makes an excellent product and has great service.

You can get all of those, to include the main spring plug, at CZ Custom.  Springs can also be found at Cajun Gun Works.
