Difference between 75B and Omega?
« on: November 17, 2012, 02:26:14 PM »
I'm looking for a CZ 75 B in 9mm and I recently saw the Omega and would like to know what the differences are? The differences I see in the Omega are the extended beavertail and maybe a 40 caliber 75B hammer and a new trigger, are those it? Is the new trigger system good? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

As far I can tell the Omega has a simpler trigger setup akin to the CZ P-07. It is also capable of being switched from a manual safety to a decocker, which can't be done with a stock B. That being said, The B is by far more popular and is also a far more proven platform for modification and upgrading. I hope that helps a little bit.

Also from the couple that I have handled, the Omega triggers are crap, worst CZ triggers I've felt outside if the DA trigger on the CZ70

there is slight difference in the frame. frontstrap is missing a cut to round the grip a bit more on the front. beavertail is upswept.

Internals are different. So very little support at this time and no aftermarket parts available for the action like triggers, sears, hammers.

Springs are interchangeable, grips will fit, but leave a flat at the front of the grip.

It sounds like I should pass on the Omega and stick to looking for a regular 75B. Thanks to everyone who replied.

For the right price though it might be a nice gun to have.
you can switch out springs, grips ( just will will have that flat right in front of the panel on the frame ) and sights.

just parts like trigger, trigger bar, sears, hammer. you will stick with the factory configurations. Schmeky is the only one I know have spent some time on one recutting and retiming the gun.  So option are limited.

but..for the right price.. who knows.

I like the look of the Omega, especially the beavertail and I don't think I would want to change any parts except swap out the grips for some factory rubber grips so for the right price I think I would try it. So far though I've only seen it cost more than a 75B.

Probably are better off getting the stock 75B since it's by far a more popular design.

The 75 Omega is simply a steel 75 frame with Omega trigger system. The Omega trigger is very popular in the P-07. The only reason the 75 Omega is not as popular is because they are very hard to find in the USA.

If possible try to shoot a regular 75 and a P-07. Then you can decide if you like the standard trigger or the Omega trigger.

The triggers on the Omega and P-07 look alot like the trigger on my Baby Eagle, if they're similar I would like the Omega because I really enjoy the Baby Eagle.
