New cz75b purchase
« on: November 24, 2012, 12:05:56 PM »
Hello all,

I recently shot a cz75b 9 mm and was absolutely intrigued by the firearm. The weight, feel, grip felt absolutely right for me

Now, I want one!!

I've been shopping around (local gun shops) and it seems like stores that actually have one available in stock,  are selling it for drastically higher than retail (approx $100 -150 + more)

I've been told that the 75b model is hard to come by.  Is that correct?

I've never purchased from an online outfit before, has anyone here ever purchased from an online retailer before? Any thought / suggestions is highly appreciated

Thank you

Ara

Ps : I came a across a store that has both 75 and a 75b model (brand new models)
Any recommendations on one vs. the other?

Get the B model.  It has a firing pin Block that keeps the gun from going bang if you drop it.

Patience, Grasshopper. They are out there. You just need to keep checking your LGS if you don't order one online. They can be had online, but there are hoops that need to be jumped through..Not as bad as you might think.. Good luck with your endeavor.
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

I have CDO. It's actually OCD but I put them in order like they should be!

Welcome.

Hello all,

I recently shot a cz75b 9 mm and was absolutely intrigued by the firearm. The weight, feel, grip felt absolutely right for me

thats the consensus many times.

Now, I want one!!

I've been shopping around (local gun shops) and it seems like stores that actually have one available in stock,  are selling it for drastically higher than retail (approx $100 -150 + more)

Depends on what country and place you live, prices will vary with location.  it is what it is.

If you decide to buy one off the web, be aware the many FFL holders charge to receive a firearm.  Then theres shipping too.  so you may have to add that into the total unseen cost too.

I've been told that the 75b model is hard to come by.  Is that correct?

no.  the 75 ( no B) isnt made anymore, therefore harder to come by.

I've never purchased from an online outfit before, has anyone here ever purchased from an online retailer before? Any thought / suggestions is highly appreciated

Do your homework.  Ask questions BEFORE you buy!  if you look and use the search function there are post regarding questions to ask.   IF you do your homework before you buy, you lessen your chances of having unhappy purchases.

Ps : I came a across a store that has both 75 and a 75b model (brand new models)
Any recommendations on one vs. the other?

when you ask for which one to get, you will always get the answer ......GET BOTH!

comment.

when it comes to guns, women or cars, they have a tendency to multiply!

This is true, great prices too but unfortunately they've been out of stock since last I checked a couple days ago.

Buds has a 75BD 9mm (decocker instead of manual safety)

True, the 9mm are normally 16 rounds but the .40 S&W is only 10 rounds.  8)

I bet if you call Damascus or Buds and tell them you are in CA they will swap the 16 round mags for 10 round mags. Or just accept the handgun with no mags and buy some 10 round mags separately. (Or just move out of that anti-gun commie state, but I digress)

The 10-rd, CA-legal mags can be purchased separately.  I'd contact Bud's (or whoever has one) and ask them about a swap, or a price without the 16rd mags, and order the 10 round mags elsewhere--maybe even locally (they are pricey though).  Sometimes you can find them on the forum classifieds.

I live in New Jersey where we have a 15 round limit. I ordered a NIB CZ75 b in satin nickel from Damascus and they swapped out the 16 round mags for me with brand new 10 round mags.  They even held the gun for almost a month until my permit came through.  I will use them again without reservation.

Thank you all for the great input.

I will call Damascus first thing tomorrow.

On a separate note, is the cz75b ammo sensitive. Does a certain type / brand of ammo work better with this model?

Thanks again
